A limited edition of the images in this website are for sale. The editions are out of three or seven with two artist’s proofs. The work is analogue and the negatives are produced using large format cameras. The negatives are then scanned at a high resolution, color graded and formatted by Lauren Smith at Dog Ear Editions in Cape Town. The files are then sent to Silver Tone in Johannesburg. From the files Dennis Da Silva creates contact negatives and slightly adjusts the grading to his specific calculations. Da Silver then creates 20×24 inch hand prints on Ilford Silver Gelatin Fiber Base 300 gram papers. The papers include Ilford 1K gloss, 5K matt, Kentmere and Japanese cotton rag. The paper is selected depending on the image. Da Silva often uses the 1K gloss as the silver emulsion contains a 3D fluorescent quality. The paper selection also depends on whether the image is displayed using Museum glass. Works are signed on the back of the print in pencil, or the front, depending on the needs of the client. The empirical information includes the title, medium, edition number and year the photograph was taken. The print is also signed off by the printer with a signature and year on the back. The quality control, workmanship and satisfaction is guaranteed in the process. All prints or art objects come with a Certificate of Authenticity which includes the above information and concept of the work. Please note that certain works have sold out and the negative has been archived and sealed. The 3D bronze sculptures are based on found objects; they are signed and editioned on the base. Grids are created by printing individual panels using Haneulemeule 308g cotton rag archival paper. In this case the work is signed off on the back of each panel and the frontal signature is on the mount board. Etchings are numbered out of seven and are signed on the front. Strict protocol is followed in the editioning/archiving process and the Certificate Of Authenticity is a legally binding document of value and purchase.

In this manner each request is attended to individually and all the steps explained depending on the work chosen. A quote for the selected edition is then sent that includes shipping costs. Once the quote has been agreed to by email; the print, cast or grid is ordered. Certain works are under agreement with galleries. In this case, the sale is agreed to by the gallery in writing before the printing is ordered. Due to the low editions and the quality control throughout the printing phases each print or art object takes approximately one month from order to destination.
